Congratulations to McNair Academics’ Aashirya Varma, Class of 2027, for earning awards at Microsoft’s BAM Summer Program.
As part of the program, participants visited major company offices including Apple, Google, and Nasdaq, where they explored how leading firms approach innovation, strategy, and leadership. Students also gained hands-on exposure to business practices such as project development, pitching, teamwork, and public speaking, while engaging with technology professionals on real-world challenges.
Aashirya networked with Microsoft engineers and employees and, together with her team, participated in and won awards in the final hackathon. Their project, a website designed to demonstrate inclusivity and foster equality for immigrants and first-generation college students in the college application process, was recognized for both its innovation and its practical business impact.
She represented McNair with excellence, continuing the tradition of achievement and innovation among our students.
